BurnCARE: Burn Computer Application for Research and Education

  • BurnCARE is a virtual patient medical trainer, designed to transform how the U.S. Army trains its medics to treat serious burn injuries. The application is designed to run on mobile devices, meaning users can train anywhere, including on the road during deployment.
  • BurnCARE includes realistic burn visualizations synchronized with dynamic advanced physiology engine outputs. It addresses the full spectrum of care, from point of injury to long-term hospital care.
  • The application’s software allows for the creation of novel virtual burn patient models currently not available to the Army for training applications.
