Cognitive Solutions Division (CSD) is a 40-member research staff that studies human performance in high stakes work domains to improve system reliability, efficiency, safety and resilience. CSD applies cognitive science and proven research methods to elicit expert knowledge, and uses it to design, evaluate and implement products to support cognitive work in high hazard settings from the military to aviation and healthcare.
We quickly understand messy, highly complex work settings by listening carefully to clients and using the most effective methods to distill goals, reveal barriers, and develop means to achieve work goals. Solutions we have developed range from organizational designs to information displays, and new work processes.
