WEBINAR
The Future of Data for Pavements, Safety, Operations
The world is changing for how we collect data on the condition, safety, and operations of our roads. The days of sending people out with clipboards to count cracks or count vehicles are rapidly coming to an end. Many have been focused on making better sensors and AI technologies that will gather higher quality data, and this trend is likely to continue.
We are moving to a place where phones are sensors and the vehicles that we drive are sensors. This will lead to more data and if leveraged correctly, will lead to better decisions to support a safe and effective transportation system.
At the end of this presentation, you will learn:
- The history of data collection for infrastructure, safety, and operations
- The evolution of improved sensors
- The current state of the practice
- The potential future where nearly every vehicle on the road is giving information
