Security Risk Assessments of FAA Regional Offices

Security Risk Assessments of FAA Regional Offices

The FAA identified a need to perform security risk assessments of its Regional Offices using the Interagency Security Committee (ISC) Risk Management Process for Federal Facilities.

ARA conducted security risk assessments of two FAA Regional Offices using the ISC process. Two ARA security specialists accompanied an FAA security specialist on site assessments of the two facilities. ARA utilized the ISC standard, Facility Security Level Determinations for Federal Facilities, to determine the appropriate baseline security level. The assessment team surveyed the facility and interviewed on-site security personnel and managers to establish threats to the facility and identify security vulnerabilities and critical assets.

A risk rating for each threat was determined and mitigation measures were recommended to reduce the risks.
