ARA’s Board of Directors has announced the promotion of Terry Schechinger to Vice President of Business Development. A Principal Scientist for ARA Corporate Development, Terry has more than 36 years of experience in Information Technology management. He has worked in business development for ARA since joining the company in January 2002.
     Terry’s marketing efforts have had a significant impact on ARA. His skill in establishing relationships with new customers, at managing inter-divisional projects, and at forming teaming arrangements with other companies has resulted in a number of growing business areas for the company, and was instrumental in establishing and helping grow ARA’s Orlando and San Diego Offices. Terry has actively worked across all of ARA’s business sectors and has led and supported several of ARA’s largest proposal efforts.
     Prior to joining ARA, Terry worked as a technology executive for several leading-edge IT companies: CompuCom Systems Incorporated, where he was Senior Vice President of Consulting and Strategic Planning; Computer Sciences Corporation, where he was Vice President and General Manager of the Navy and Marine Corps Business Unit; and BDM International as Group Director of Federal Programs.
     A former U.S. Navy Captain, Terry was a leader in the Navy’s information technology strategic planning, budgeting and program execution. He also served as Information Systems Senior Executive (equivalent to today’s CIO). Terry has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Iowa and completed a master’s degree in Computer Technology at Naval Post Graduate School.
