Effective and efficient protection of personnel and resources within a defined area remains a critical objective for both civilian and military organizations. The RAPID™ mobile surveillance system is a cost-effective, highly capable solution for automatic wide area intrusion detection and identification. The universal radar mounting platform supports multiple sensor types capable of monitoring activity on areas such as military bases, borders, airports, ports, nuclear power plants and critical infrastructure.
Detection
• Ranges are determined by radar.
• The radar can be mounted on a platform or on a telescoping mast.
• The system can be monitored and controlled locally or remotely.
Assessment
• CCTV and Thermal cameras sized to match medium or long range radar capabilities.
• Day/night all weather condition assessment.
• Autotrack feature autonomously pans video camera to intruder detection angle.
• Manual pan/tilt/zoom camera selection from control station.
Communications
• High bandwidth wireless communications.
• Allows exchange of data between the trailer
and command and control center, up to 4 miles line of sight.

System Features
Mobile, Autonomous and Flexible
- Trailer mounted, autonomous system is designed to employ the PSRS short range, MSTAR long range or other ground based radar systems.
- Command and control center capable of interfacing with multiple trailers simultaneously in order to extend the surveillance area.
- COTS 6’X8’ trailer includes cameras, communications, power system, storage boxes, and a 2” ball or pintle hitch, allowing it to be towed by any vehicle.
Fully Automated Detection
- Interfaces with radar to autonomously detect movement in a defined area, track targets, alarm if the targets cross into prohibited areas and provide day/night immediate visual assessment of targets.
- 360˚ coverage, range determined by class of radar.
24 hour Surveillance Capability
- Thermal infrared video cameras allow day/night surveillance without additional lighting.
Advanced Power System
- Automatic battery refreshment: 24v supplied by solar panel or liquid cooled, low acoustic signature generator.
- Provides a minimum of 7 days of operation without refueling: Uses 24v supplied by solar panels,
batteries, or when needed a liquid cooled, low acoustic generator.
- Can also operate on 120v AC. Generator can be operated autonomously
by battery state of charge or by operator programmable schedule.
Customized Solution
- Can integrate government furnished sensors/equipment or provide complete system with sensors included.
- Can be operated in concert with ARA's Integrated Base Defense Security System
Information Assurance & Security
- The RAPID™ system will soon undergo the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) enabling the trailer(s) to be interconnected with the Global Information Grid (GIG).
