Modular Robotic Control System

ARA has over a decade of experience in designing, building, and supporting medium to large UGVs on a variety of platforms. The backbone of ARA’s medium to large UGVs is the Modular Robotic Control System (MRCS) which allows users to select the platform appropriate to the task. These platforms support the use of a variety of attachments including brushcutters, buckets, and backhoes, as well as robotic arms and mine detection and clearance systems.  Our Fiber-optic Communication and Control System (FCCS) provides tethered operations in radio-denied or restricted areas. ARA's Universal Operator Control System (UOCS) is a lightweight, JAUS compatible control console capable of RF and fiber-optic communication.

Capabilities

Robotics

ARA develops, prototypes and manufactures innovative robotic systems. Our robots range from small ground robots to small unmanned air vehicles. Our robotic platforms include: tree/building/stair-climbing surveillance robots, large tracked and wheeled-vehicle mine clearing robots, autonomous patrol vehicles, teleoperated weaponized vehicles, and small UAVs for surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
 
Our robots support military operations, law enforcement, search & rescue after natural disasters, and exploration in areas that are unsafe or inaccessible by humans.

 

We have successfully fielded hundreds of systems worldwide performing a variety of missions including; reconnaissance, surveillance, IED defeat, UXO & mine clearance, and hazardous materials handling.
