Experience and Proven Results
- January 25, 2011: Granted Patent No. US 7,875,186 B2: Process for Regenerating and Protonating a Weak-Base Anion Exchange Resin
- Spring 2010: ARA's regenerable, ion exchange process has been in commercial operation since the spring of 2010 to treat perchlorate contamination in an industrial wastewater. The perchlorate concentration in this wastewater range as high as several hundred milligrams per liter (mg/L). ARA's ion exchange process and Purolite's perchlorate-selective, weak base anion (WBA) resin were used to retrofit an existing ion exchange process. Performance improvements were dramatic: treatment capacity doubled, perchlorate bleed was reduced by 98%, and chemical consumption was reduced by 90%.
- March 1, 2010 - Present WBA technology at AWWA, 2010 Inorganic Contaminants Workshop (Denver, CO)

- December 2010 - Presented status of 1000 gpm, WBA demonstration system in Rialto, CA at 2010 Partners in Environmental Technology Technical Symposium & Workshop hosted SERDP and ESTCP (Washington D.C.)
ARA presented the following:

- November 2009 - Construction kick-off of 1000 gpm, WBA demonstration system (Rialto, CA)
