Voluntary Insurances


Voluntary Group Life Insurance

ARA sponsors a Voluntary Group Term Life Insurance Policy that employees may subscribe to and pay for with a payroll deduction. Life Insurance is available in increments of $10,000 up to a maximum of $500,000 for the employee, spouse, or domestic partner and in increments of $2,000 up to a maximum of $10,000 for each child under 19 (or 26 if they are full time students). Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance may also be purchased in any amount up to the same maximums listed above. The AD&D Insurance is separate from the life insurance and may be taken in any amount up to the maximums independent of any life insurance purchase.

Short Term Disability

ARA sponsors a Voluntary Short Term Disability Insurance Policy that employees may subscribe to and pay for with a payroll deduction. This policy provides 60% of salary (up to a maximum of $1,000 per week) for 6 weeks beginning on the 14th day after the onset of a disabling condition. This policy covers most of the 60-day waiting period for the ARA provided Long Term Disability Policy.
