MRCS Robotic Platform and Upgrades

Problem Statement and Objectives

The USMC was in need of new production units for rubber tracked tractors, used to remotely handle unexploded devices. The Vertek Division of ARA was contracted by the United States Army Joint Program Office in Huntsville, AL to complete this effort’s challenges.

  • developed units, utilizing ARA's Modular Robotic Control System (MCRS)

  • attached to an All-Season Vehicle (ASV) RC-60.
     

Results and Benefits

Platforms upgraded and new attachments developed and produced, linked to a contract to provide non-recurring design work.
