Long-range Strike Bomber M&S Support

Problem Statement and Objectives

The United States Air Force Research Laboratory/Munitions Directorate, responsible for providing research and development in conventional air armament systems, conducted an evaluation of several proposed modeling and simulation approaches for the analysis of advanced weapon concepts that depended on integrated operations in a system of systems (SoS) environment. Choosing the Integrating Concept Evaluation Tool (ICET) based on the Flexible Analysis & Missions Exercise Simulation (FLAMES) architecture, AFRL/MN enlisted ARA, teamed with Ternion, in order to provide system-level requirements and trade space analyses.

  • Supplied AFRL with a concept weapons system for integration into ICET

Results and Benefits

Through ARA/Ternion's expertise, Long Range Strike (LRS) models were formulated, developed, and made compatible with the FLAMES architecture.
