GBS and SPAR Study

Problem Statement and Objectives

ChevronTexaco Energy Technology needed to critically review GRI Pipeline Reliability Methodology reports, identify ILI inspection optimization implementation issues, and develop a proposal for additional methodology with detailed implementation procedures and software capable of generating pipeline system inspections, repairs or other mitigation plans.

Results and Benefits

ARA developed a more efficient methodology for determining optimal In-Line Inspection (ILI) schedules. The improved methodology runs the first optimal inspection after pipeline installation, provides information about what repairs should be made, and recommends subsequent inspection schedules and mitigation plans.
