GSA Technology Transfer Web Site Support

Problem Statement and Objectives

The GSA’s Office of the Chief Architect needed a way to share gathered research in the area of building structure performance as it relates to the protection of people should an explosive event occur. This research includes: explosive testing and evaluation of systems; the development of WINGARD for the prediction of glazing hazards; the development of guidelines for Progressive Collapse; and other related topics.
 
ARA created a technology transfer website (OCA.GSA.GOV) containing:

  • Standards

Results and Benefits

This site allows the GSA to rapidly and efficiently transfer information to those who need to implement designs and assessments.
 
In addition, the technology transfer website has facilitated the implementation of the GSA’s protection criteria standards and helped ensure adequate protection for the assets and people under GSA charge in the most cost-effective manner.
