Risk Assessments

ARA has performed risk assessments for government clients since 1979. Security risk management enables airport directors to make informed budgeting decisions on security staffing, systems, and procedures. ARA has provided vulnerability assessments and comprehensive security planning for many years to U.S. government agencies, including the FAA. ARA employs a team of security professionals with extensive experience in performing security risk assessments. The ARA assessment teams utilize a risk assessment methodology, Federal Security Risk Management (FSRM), which ARA originally developed for the Federal Protective Service (FPS) of the Department of Homeland Security. FPS has applied this process to assess the over 8,000 federally owned and/or operated facilities. ARA has also helped other government agencies, such as the Internal Revenue Service, the Social Security Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), develop their risk management programs, either by training their security specialists or by performing security risk management assessments of their facilities.

ARA helps organizations build a security risk management program by training security professionals to perform security risk assessments using the FSRM process. This training consists of both classroom training and on-site training where ARA security specialists perform actual FSRM assessments with the trainees. This approach allows the trainees to apply the assessment process while being guided by experienced security professionals. During the training period, the client organization simultaneously receives both training for their security personnel and completed security risk assessments of key facilities.
