Florida Coastal Monitoring Project 2005
Problem Statement and Objectives
Florida Panhandle homeowners set up an agreement with ARA to retrofit
and/or replace houses damaged by hurricanes. ARA evaluated and selected three houses in the panhandle and three houses along the Florida coast to replace or retrofit.
- Continued five years' previous work
- Selected and retrofitted up to three homes for the hurricane wind research project
- Upgraded existing retrofitted homes as needed to assure continued participation in FCMP
Results and Benefits
Selected homes based on an analysis of hurricane risk done by ARA in 1998 for the entire Florida coast.
