ARA Pledges Support for National Guard, Reserve Members
CEO Rob Sues has shown ARA's support for the National Guard and Reserve by signing a statement of support for the forces on behalf of the company.
The statement "recognizes the National Guard and Reserve are essential to the strength of our nation and the well-being of our communities."
"We are honored to support the men and women who play such vital roles in our country's defense and safety," Sues said.
The statement was signed in Santa Fe, N.M., in the presence of Maj. General Kenny C. Montoya, the Adjutant General for the New Mexico National Guard, and ARA Corporate Development Officer and Executive Vice President Frank Maestas as well as Crawford "Budgie" Green, the New Mexico State Chairman for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
ARA has pledged to:
- Honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA);
- Provide tools to supervisors to effectively manage employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve;
- Recognize and support service members and their families in times of peace, crisis and war.
According to ESGR's Web site, USERRA is intended to ensure that people who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, Reserves, National Guard or other uniformed services are not disadvantaged in their civilian careers because of their service; are promptly re-employed in their civilian jobs upon their return from duty; and are not discriminated against in employment based on past, present or future military service.
