ARA Joins Collaborative EDGE® Innovation NetworkFebruary 2012
Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) has joined the EDGE® Innovation Network, a collaborative, open-environment initiative enabling industry and academia, with government input, to collaborate on enhancing the delivery cycle of new technologies and innovative capabilities to war fighters and first-responders.
“ARA is a national leader on several technology fronts, so it makes sense for us to collaborate technically on a wide scope with industry and academia. EDGE will facilitate this collaboration, and we look forward to upcoming engagements with EDGE members,” said Dr. Allen York, ARA’s Software, Systems, and Modeling Sector manager.
“The EDGE provides a new military and government acquisition paradigm by using both physical and virtual environments where EDGE members and users can collaborate and innovate together to deliver gap-filling capabilities in months rather than years,” said Pete Palmer, EDGE Innovation Network director.
Sponsored by General Dynamics C4 Systems, there are 11 EDGE Innovation Centers worldwide and more than 240 EDGE members. Recent new members include: Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), Alexandria, Va.; Citrix Systems, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Quantum Innovation Corp., Millbury, Mass.; Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, Ohio.
