Disaster Management and Evacuation Planning
ARA works with organizations to develop comprehensive disaster management master plans that cover preparedness, response, and recovery phases (both short and long-term). ARA provides plans for Emergency Operations Centers that address emergency communications and identify the resources needed for all potential hazards including natural, technological and man-made hazards.
ARA develops specific emergency scenarios including explosions, fires, weather related emergencies, civil disturbances, communications or power failures, and chemical, biological, or radiological hazards and defines the requirements for all aspects of each scenario. ARA has developed emergency management software tools that have an automatic report writer feature, provide consistency and uniformity among sections and can easily update plans.
ARA also develops evacuation plans for complex and large facilities. We develop and apply software tools that can handle multiple scenarios, determine optimum paths, and devise large-scale evacuation plans. Our tools use detailed 2D and 3D models of multistory facilities, including modeling of occupants as individual agents to simulate occupant egress/Ingress considering occupant mobility, reaction times, occupant behavior and damage to evacuation routes. |
